The Olympic Cheerleaders - Oval Lingotto - Torino995 x bekekenI was surprised to see that there were "Olympic Cheerleaders." I don't know if it was the lighting in the Oval Lingotto, but their costumes looked dull (and almost unclean) to me. But they were cheery!

Marjorie at the Hotel Metropole, Hanoi994 x bekekenHanoi hadn't welcomed many tourists when we visited. We had reservations at another hotel -- built by Cubans -- and it was awful. We learned that the Hotel Metropole had just been refurbished and it was day one of its "soft" opening. We were there in a flash. Even in Hanoi Marjorie managed to fill a shopping bag.

The Mine in Dartmouth994 x bekekenThere is a big red mine on the sea front in Dartmouth with a coin slot. The brass plaque says that all funds go to The Shipwrecked Fisherman & Mariners Royal Benevolent Society, but the mine seemed full. As the mine is about a meter in diameter --- if it's full of coins it must be holding a treasure trove.
