Front Hedge at Whitecroft625 x angesehenThere's a hole in the road near our hedge, and in the winter it fills with salt water. That splashes on the hedge, and has killed the lower branches. We've installed a small gate her to give us access to the pond area and uppermost part of the garden.

Michaelmas Daisies - Whitecroft Garden624 x angesehenI'd never even heard of a Michaelmas Daisy until I spotted a road sign in Malvern one day pointing to the National Michaelmas Daisy Collection. We actually paid a visit and discovered that these daisies bloom in the autumn. And, to our surprise, we have Michaelmas daisies in our garden. Here are some just outside our front lounge, blooming in October.

Scary Photo -- Really Scary624 x angesehenI hadn't shaved in a while, so had a big white beard --- but my moustache stayed black and swarthy. I decided to keep the Tom Sellick look, but (fortunately) Marjorie was having none of it. My swarthy moustache was gone a minute later. I'm surprised how much I look like my father --- even down to his droopy eyelids and uneven eyes. Poor Shauna has the same problem. Strabismus in the genes!

Japanese maple outside my window: with the long summer days, the sun really shines in during the afternoon, but I don't like to shut the blinds.
