During the late Hellenistic and Imperial period local worthies engaged in what seems to us now a fantastic orgy of construction, carving Greco-Roman faades from the living rock. Marjorie stands near a few stone pillars.

Arriving in New York City on the QE2 - April 1991614 x angesehenThis panoramic photograph, taken with a Widelux camera from the top deck of the QE2, is now quite poignant because of the prominence of the two towers of the World Trade Center. We couldn't have imagined when we took this photograph on a warm spring day in April 1991 that just over a decade later both towers would be gone. In November 2008 the QE2 sails to Dubai where she will be permanently moored.

Standing In Our Cabin on the QE2614 x angesehenMarjorie was seasick during most of the crossing of the North Atlantic, so she spent a lot of time in our cabin. During the last day or so of our trip the seas started to calm, so Marjorie was able to see some of the ship.

The trees in the background were manchineel trees, common near the beach in the Caribbean. One little worry: "Standing under the tree is hazardous if it is raining. The water passing through the leaves and fruit will cause burns and blisters if it comes in contact with your skin." Fortunately, it was sunny.

The Laurels on Selma Avenue - Hollywood611 x angesehenWhen Marcia and I were first married (1971) we lived at The Laurels at 8017 Selma Avenue in Hollywood --- at the time near Schwab's Pharmacy on Sunset Boulevard. Our apartment was in the upper right hand corner of this California pink building. When we drove by it in 2001 --- some 30 years later --- nothing had changed.

Marjorie and An Orange Juice606 x angesehenMarjorie giving me Stink Eye: "Put that camera down. Why are you always taking pictures of me?" I belive this was in Aqaba Airport, Jordan, in 1989. Marjorie gave me a trip to Jordan on the Concorde for my 40th Birthday. Our first stop was Aqaba, where they had a reception for us. Most passengers had a lot to drink, and there were a lot of poorly passengers on the hot bus in the later afternoon.

Craig and Marjorie By The Hotel Pool, Petra604 x angesehenIt was very hot at Petra (100 degrees+), so we enjoyed a dip in the hotel pool near Petra, in Jordan. I'm glad to see that I was flying the corporate Transax colours.
