Marjorie at the Hotel Metropole, Hanoi799 odsłonHanoi hadn't welcomed many tourists when we visited. We had reservations at another hotel -- built by Cubans -- and it was awful. We learned that the Hotel Metropole had just been refurbished and it was day one of its "soft" opening. We were there in a flash. Even in Hanoi Marjorie managed to fill a shopping bag.

Dan Quayle (the former VP of the United States) stood still, and we were paraded in to have our photos taken. Once the shutter was clicked, he shook our hands while --- at the same time --- pulling us out of the picture so the next folks could slot in.
