Award Winning Eggsvu 1342 foisJust after I took this photograph, a gorgon came running up to me to ask if I had permission to take photos. I said "no," but I explained I was a Life Governor of the Society, and had taken photos at the show for years. I said if I needed permission, a simple sign or courteous comment would be appreciated. I'm 56 years old: far too old to be yelled at by petty functionaries guarding eggs.

Bonsai in the Garden Tentvu 1277 foisThe flower and garden tent was hugely reduced in size from previous years: I believe the Three Counties Show conflicts with a BBC garden show at the NEC. But the bonsai on display were beautiful.

Award Winning Chickenvu 1197 foisThe gorgon who yelled at me about taking photos in the poultry tent thought that I would "stress" the birds. I would suggest that putting them in a small cage in a hot tent filled with other unfamiliar chickens and ducks and even turkeys, and then add thousands of people, would stress them more than a 1/100 exposure. Does this guy look stressed?

Speed Camera Partnershipvu 1135 foisI saw these folks from the Speed Camera Partnership blowing up balloons (hmmm). As their cameras threaten to take our photograph at unwanted times, I thought I'd take their photograph. They didn't appear to be speeding, but I just need to check the calibration of my camera.
