The Top of our Leylandii Hedge -- Ready for the Bonfire854 x bekekenPaul Doyle and team trimmed the top off one of our leylandii hedges, bringing much more light into our front garden. Coincidentally, we've been asked to build a large bonfire for a photo shoot. Here's the "cuttings" waiting to be moved from our track to the site of the bonfire.

Belinda - Our House Cow851 x bekekenBelinda is a Guernsey cow. She's milked, by hand, each day to provide milk for us and for the dog resort. She's heavily pregnant --- due anytime soon --- so the milk has dried up as she puts all of her reserves into her calf.

Carole and Her Calf849 x bekekenCarole is our Guernsey house cow. When she's in full action, she produces all of the delicious Guernsey milk that we can possibly drink --- and she's milked by hand. She's just had a new calf, a bull calf. I was taking his photograph, and Carole stepped in to protect him.

Collinson Silos845 x bekekenWe're considering the purchase of a silo for the farm, to hold the grain for the cattle. We stopped by the Collinson booth at the Royal Show to look at silos, during the five minutes of blue sky.

Motor and Arm -- Stable Gate845 x bekekenThis is the motor and arm that open and close (when they work, which they now don't) the stable gate. The wires and conductors on top of the gate and fence are unrelated to the automation system --- they are part of the Gallagher electric fence system --- to keep foxes out.

Richard Chamings and Carole844 x bekekenCarole, our Guernsey house cow, has a bit of mastitis. Enter Richard Chamings, our vet from White House Vets with a huge injection of antibiotics.
