Gloucester Old Spot Sow707 viewsWhat's she doing here? She was brought here to become impregnated by one of our Tamworth boars --- but then the owner never came to pick her up. We are now looking for a good home for this GOS sow, and her piglets. When this sow arrived she had the large, healed gash in her right ear. (It actually lets her see a little bit!)

Sleeping Tamworth Pigs706 viewsIt's been very damp, so we brought some of the Tamworth pigs into the stable. We cleaned them off first --- look how they shine. And they don't foul in the stable, just in a corner of the stable yard. This is all one litter: they're brothers and sisters. Born in April 2005, about six months ago. Isn't it great how they sleep in a big gaggle?

Tamworth - Wild Boar Piglets703 viewsThese six piglets are 7/8 Tamworth and 1/8 Wild Boar. Most of the six look like they're pure Tamworth, but a couple have black snouts and black circles around their eyes. The six were raised alongside a wild sow and a wild boar, so they're quite feisty. They're off to participate in an "Iron Age" lifestyle experiment --- as I understand it, school children will be able to see how folks actually lived in the Iron Age.
