Betty's in York528 viewsThis was like a clean Swiss cafe in Zurich, except for the fact that it was in York. It seemed to have a steady queue. We had a great lunch there, and bought some delicious cookies and pastry. (That's our car parked in front. I guess we could have driven inside.)

Magnolia With Flying Insect527 viewsI love magnolias. The only problem is that these huge flowers seem to fall apart: in doing so they avoid being cut from the tree and put in a vase. Wonderful big petals, and a great smell that, at least in this case, attracted a small flying insect of some sort.

Wisteria Vine at Whitecroft527 viewsThe vine is on a north-facing wall, so it doesn't bloom as much as we'd like --- and it blooms quite late in the season. But it is gorgeous.
