Yellow Hibiscus in Whitecroft Orchid House769 viewsOur little area that's like Hawaii --- humid and warm, with the occasional trade wind from the Pali.

The Tewkesbury Ferry768 viewsThe other day, when coming home on the M50, I spotted a sign to the ferry. The ferry? Today we went to have a look, and there really is a ferry that runs several times a day from this beautiful spot on the River Avon (actually near the motorway) to Tewkesbury. That's Bredon Hill in the background.

OUr New Fence -- In Context768 viewsShowing our new wooden fence beneath our oak tree. It closes a gap in our hedge. We think the hedgerow didn't grow in this area because it had apparently once been a pond --- so possibly filled with rubble, as seems to often be the case.

Messy Office, Sunny Conservatory766 viewsBecause I scan everything, my office is cluttered -- until I scan and then shred the document. Unread magazines stacked neatly on the left. Kiko asleep in the sun. Topiary dog outside keeping watch.

Craig Out For A Stroll766 viewsA preview of things to come? :-( I'd been immobilised for about 14 hours, injected with morphine and other goodies, and "log rolled" from gurney to CAT scan tray. This is my first time up and about, complete with nurse and walker. On the way home, I went "ouch, ouch" when Marjorie even drove over a tiny pebble in the road. I am a true Princess. May 5 2006

Overhanging Shrubs766 viewsOverhanging shrubs at the front of the Cider Mill, Colletts Green Road, Powick. The vertical yellow line shows the property line. The verge is completely gone -- and the shrubs are overhanging the road surface itself.

Round Bushes and Fig Tree764 viewsThis is the "entrance" to our front garden at Whitecroft. The fig tree is growing well --- our theory is that it's near the flue from the boiler, and also the kitchen extractor fan. The fig tree is in its own "micro-climate" that is hopefully a bit more like the Med than like Malvern.
