Repairing the Fountainvu 615 foisGiving the fountain in the front garden a good clean. Unfortunately, in doing this the young lad managed to remove all of the moss from the outside of the fountain, and kill all of the plants in the front. The fountain looks "new" again, but has lost the patina it took a dozen years to acquire. October 2 2006

This photograph was taken at an outdoor fair at The Lawns nursing home in Kempsey, where he was living at the time. It was a sunny day, and we all had ice cream cones. We entered Kea, our bull terrier, in the waggy tail contest.

Replacement "Red Wax" Pears from Solstice in Londonvu 611 foisThese are the replacement pears sent to us by Solstice --- they don't look much better than the original "Red Wax" pears. They were virtually inedible --- fell apart in a matter of a day. After a delay, Solstice refunded the purchase price.

Whitecroft Sunset - 5 August 2005vu 610 foisOur neighbor farmer, Thomas Hawkins, planted a cereal crop on the field next to Whitecroft. With it all rolled up nicely into bundles, Marjorie, Tapa, and I went to have a look at the big rolls at sunset. Whitecroft is just visible in the trees.
