The DVD's From The Statesvu 623 foisMarjorie and I miss "Survivor" and "Amazing Race," neither of which are shown in the UK. (Although they've recently started to show the latter here.) I found a gentleman on Elance to record the two programmes for me on DVD's. As you can see, we're not exactly on top of watching them.

WMF Gondolier Centrepiecevu 621 foisI am told it's quite unusual to have the original glass bowl with this piece. The bowl is quite delicate, and a strange shape --- and it has lasted (with just a few chips on the edges) for over 100 years. And at least two trips across the Atlantic. We purchased this piece in Buenos Aires.

The Tewkesbury Ferryvu 620 foisThe other day, when coming home on the M50, I spotted a sign to the ferry. The ferry? Today we went to have a look, and there really is a ferry that runs several times a day from this beautiful spot on the River Avon (actually near the motorway) to Tewkesbury. That's Bredon Hill in the background.

Yellow-Jacket Waspvu 619 foisWe seem to have a wasps' next in the ground next to Kea's and Pau's bench. I took about a dozen photos --- this is the only one where the wasp is in focus. There's actually a guide on the internet to tell you what the markings mean. I think they mean "nasty -- avoid." Apparently you can freeze the nest, or pour boiling water down the opening. As if!
