Marjorie and Cathy - Heathrow817 viewsCathy leaving to return to Australia after her two-week visit. Her Singapore Airlines flight delayed by two hours. We went to Sbarro as it was all that was open. I wanted spaghetti with meatballs, but they only had the meatballs. So I had meat lasagna, and the kind Sbarro man cut a meatball in quarters and hid it under my lasagna. The girls had vegetable lasagna which they ate in full, despite the absence of a smuggled meatball.

Helicopter Overhead816 viewsTapa started barking the other night, and when he and I looked outdoors, there was a helicopter hovering across the street, pointing its searchlight about. It then went down our track, and away past the back field. I learned the next morning that there had been police cars and dogs chasing someone. The fugitive tried to get over our gate -- but the top is electrified (to keep foxes out). This is a photo of the helicopter.

Grandfather (John "Woody" Walsh) Having An Ice Cream815 viewsGrandfather had a stroke in 1987. This photograph was taken at an outdoor fair at The Lawns nursing home in Kempsey, where he was living at the time. It was a sunny day, and we all had ice cream cones. We entered Kea, our bull terrier, in the waggy tail contest.

Craig's Back814 viewsMy friend Bob Cavey sent me this cartoon to show me dealing with my Achilles' tendonitis and a fractured back. The look on my face says it all.

Whitecroft Garden - Red Rose811 viewsEveryone takes photographs of roses, particularly red roses. I was taking photos of doggies when I saw this rose tucked away in the garden, near the pear trees.

Whitecroft Decking811 viewsThird time lucky? The first deck was built of teak and painted with special marine deck paint. It was incredibly slippery. The second deck was built of soft wood and stained, but the paint kept peeling off (you can see the latest coat on the right hand side -- the grey paint applied in 2003). The new decking is guaranteed for 25 years. Installed in August 2005, so we have until August 2030. I will be 81.
