Dinner Time605 x bekekenWe usually feed the cattle and the pigs separately, in troughs on opposite sides of the field. But today was "photo" day, so we fed them together. And they happily shared their feed.

Ow, that hurts!605 x bekekenLord Rannoch, our Highland bull, was quick to charge the fence --- and, to our amazement, he actually broke through. There were five of us there at the time, including our veterinarian to do a castration of a young Gloucester bull. What this photograph doesn't show is Zbig and Gregorz running around yelling --- and finally actually separating the two bulls before any damage was done.

Greg feeding Lord MacFhionghuain of Lucies604 x bekekenTrying to lure one of the cows into the stock trailer --- we thought we'd have better luck with His Lordship, and she'd follow. "No" on both counts, I'm afraid.

Balamory -- Exhausted by Ross587 x bekekenIt was a warm afternoon and this young Highland heifer was just moved up to the field near the house. Ross, the older bull, ran her all around the field --- and she was panting at the end of the unsuccessful courtship ritual.
