The Day Tarmac Came155 viewsThis is our second load of gravel from Tarmac for the farm drive. We had 15 tons yesterday, and this is 20 tons. What would we do without the tractor and the bucket on the front?
The Trailer, Greenhouse, and Barn275 views... and, of course, our tractor. The farm stable yard on a hot summer afternoon.
Marjorie Supervising the Removal of a Tree216 viewsThe trees are apparently cut down, and then dragged by tractor to the main "road" that runs through Lord's Wood. They are then taken to the consolidation area, where they await pick-up by the truck from the sawmill.
The Whitecroft Track -- Looking North129 viewsA view down our track, showing our farm tractor parked by our gate. Our neighbours claimed that the tractor was "blocking" the track (a track that we own). I took this photograph to show that their claim was spurious.
Whitecroft Track -- Looking South122 viewsSummer afternoon, Aug 3 2006. Our white gate on the left. We own this gravel track. Our neighbours told the Council our tractor was blocking the track (our track). I took this photo to show this to be untrue.
The Contractors Carefully Measure The New Fence200 viewsGreat care was taken to be sure that the fence was not over the boundary. The new fence sits entirely on our property. Morning of September 15 2006.
Down With The Old, In With The New239 viewsAfter a year of litigation (commenced against us by Thomas Hawkins) we have fully prevailed. The Court-appointed expert found that the fence by Woodman's Cottage was not along the boundary line, and encroached on our property. This is important, because it has to do with "visual splays" onto the road. On September 15 2006 our contractors arrived to remove the part of the fence that encroached, and to put up our new fence along the boundary line.
A Gate in the Pig Fields207 viewsIt's been a bit of a rainy, muddy winter. This field actually has field drains --- we installed them when we purchased the field in the mid-1990's. But the clay soil retains water, and it's rainy and wet here.
Maggot's Croft141 viewsThe field behind Whitecroft, with the stable yard (and tractor) in the foreground.
Stable Block243 viewsPhotograhed from the stable yard, looking back at the stable block (four boxes and a tack room, concrete floors and stable yard). The house is in the background, secluded by trees. Our track is on the right in this photograph.
....... getting closer97 viewsDestroying the hard drive on old computers --- with the farm tractor.
..... and rolling on .........123 viewsAmazing how strong the case is on Marjorie's old Compaq computer. Even the full weight of the tractor can't crush it.
