The Canal Path690 viewsA bit overgrown along what I call "the canal path," so this photo doesn't really show the water. We had to put the temporary wire fence in (left of photograph) as the dogs kept going into the water and duck weed. I took this photo to show the garden centre our empty trellis on the right. We've had honeysuckle there (yuck), and roses that haven't grown well. Marjorie wants a purple flower we've seen in our rambling.

Artichoke and Mint315 viewsWe got lost one day going to Coventry (or somepleace awful) and we found the National Herb Centre. They had the most wonderful, big, silver-green plants that turned out to be artichoke plants. Ours didn't grow anywhere as large, yet. But fresh artichokes from the garden are great. We've surrounded the little artichoke plant with mint. Whitecroft, on a warm Spring day in April, 2004.

Green and Blue264 viewsWhen I was a kid, I had a typewriter ribbon that was blue and green (or maybe it was purple and green) --- rather than black and red. These two plants in our garden remind me of that old typewriter.

Whitecroft Garden - May 2004300 viewsMarjorie, the dogs, and I spent all day today --- Sunday --- outside in the glorious sunshine. As we were going in, I walked around the garden with my camera and spotted these pretty flowers. Springtime turning into summer in the English countryside.

Kiko, Tapa & Marjorie in the Garden5777 viewsWhitecroft - Summer 2003. Marjorie in the garden trying to relax, but the dogs are having none of it. The www.dogshumping.com domain is for sale. It would make an unusual gift.

Tapa and the Daisy Sprinkler3526 viewsWe bought this silly yellow daisy sprinkler at the BBC Garden Show --- for Tapa. We knew he'd chase the water all over the place. And he did, for hours. When we shut it off, he'd stand at look at the limp daisy, waiting for it to do something. So we'd have to turn it on again.

Kiko and Tapa in the Garden880 viewsAs Kiko gets older, he just doesn't like to be in the house with Tapa. But they still love to play ball together, and as it gets warmer (and a bit drier) there's more time for the two to play in the garden. April 3 2005
