Brooke and Poi T-Shirt665 viewsWe were contacted by E! television. They were filming a "Wild on Waikiki" program, and wanted a taro lo`i in town. We explained that most lo`i were on the neighbor islands, but that we had a small one (about 10 sq. ft.) in our parking lot. The taro plants in our mini-lo`i were purchased at Home Depot. But our mini lo`i was graced by Brooke, and appeared in the E! program.

Westbrook Settles In3143 viewsWe picked up Westbrook Peter Lad 1st on May 18, 2005. It was his birthday --- he's 11 weeks old. We had an uneventful ride down from his original home in Little Hereford, and he's settled in nicely. We have him in a large stable until he grows a bit larger and can be put out with the bigger pigs.

Westbrook4870 viewsSince his arrival at Lucies Farm a few days ago, Worthington has become a "stable pig." He lives in one of our stables, and runs around the stable yard keeping us all company.

Tenbury Wells Pump Room478 viewsWe were surprised at how small this building really is. Inside (to our disappointment) it had Malvern Hills District Council offices: some bureaucrats getting ready for a planning meeting. We'd hoped for little waitresses serving sandwiches where the crust had been cut off.1 comments

Tenbury Wells Pump Room471 viewsFor my taste, the front of the building had been ruined by the addition of a wheelchair ramp. (Of course, if I were in a wheelchair I would feel differently.)

Tenbury Wells Pump Room Tower202 viewsThe tower has been restored: the roof looks a bit like sheet metal, almost like it came in kit form and was assembled. We were also surprised at how short the tower was.

Aberdeen Angus Bull & Gloucester Cow431 viewsOur Aberdeen Angus bull, Rull Balletcruz B012, enjoys a summer meal with Betty, our Gloucester cow. The story of Gloucester cows is quite interesting: in 1972 there were only 68 Gloucester cattle in the world. Please visit the Gloucester Cattle Society website. Note the roof thatcher in the background.

Betty (Gloucester) and Friend2337 viewsBetty, our Gloucester cow, is hopefully a week or two away from having her first calf. Here she is with one of our Aberdeen Angus heiffers. Note the roof thatching in the background. Rural England on an early summer afternoon.

Westbrook at the Powick Parish Fete2253 viewsWe cooked Scottish | Kobe burgers at the Powick Parish Fete, May 28 2005. We also brought Westbrook Peter Lad (born 1 March 2005) --- our Berkshire boar. He was fine --- as though going to a fete was something he did every week.

Dubarry Boots6758 viewsThe Dubarry folks sell their waterproof boots by standing in a little tub of water during most of the show. They're also good at serving chilled champagne.
