Running Through The 11 Acre Field5788 viewsI'm not sure if this Highland cow was running to me, or away from me. A warm summer afternoon, July 10 2005, on the 11 Acre field.

A Proud Highland Cow565 viewsA summer afternoon, July 10 2005, during the "magic hour." That's Worcester in the background, over the River Severn and the River Teme.

Alpaca Profile231 viewsMost alpaca photographs that I've seen show the "fluffy" version with lots of fur. Our three alpaca bachelors have just been shorn for the summer, so you can actually see their faces. And I'm sure they're a lot more comfortable.

Merlin the Guernsey Bull276 viewsIt's a bit silly, but we have one Guernsey house cow (Carole) and one Guernsey bull (Merlin). They are very lovey-dovey, and spend a tremendous amount of each day grooming each other. In this photo Merlin looks a bit like a Roman devil-god. I think it's his short, stubby horns.

"Spooky" Alice and Her Calf212 views"Spooky" Alice is our only Highland cow minus her horns. Our former stockmen wouldn't handle her as they felt she was too dangerous, so the compromise was to keep her (instead of kill her) but minus her horns. Alice and her calf have now moved to a new home in Wales.

A Highland Cow Having a Swig of Beer228 viewsOur beef cattle are raised in the traditional Kobe style -- they are fed beer and grain. Normally, they don't like the "fizz" in the beer, so prefer it if we pour it over the grain and let it sit for a few hours. But this was a hot spring day, and this cow quite enjoyed the cold beer right from the bottle.
