Kiko and His Yellow Ballvu 1803 foisKiko loves to play ball. He invents all sorts of complicated games and strategies, and he prefers to try them out with Marjorie rather than me. He knows that he's not allowed to bring the ball into the house (only because he will continue to chew it, and will slobber all over the place) so he makes the decision of when to leave the ball outside and come indoors. Looks like he snuck indoors today with the yellow ball.18 Mai 2004

Whitecroft Garden - May 2004vu 720 foisMarjorie, the dogs, and I spent all day today --- Sunday --- outside in the glorious sunshine. As we were going in, I walked around the garden with my camera and spotted these pretty flowers. Springtime turning into summer in the English countryside.16 Mai 2004

Wisteria - Whitecroftvu 618 foisI've always been disappointed by our Wisteria vine. It seems to bloom late (if at all) and then it's not very nice. I think we made the mistake of putting it on a north-facing wall. This year, 2004, the flowers were the best I've seen. But still not as good as others I've seen. Perhaps 2005?16 Mai 2004

Path by the Duckweed Pondvu 611 foisPretty flowers growing in the path by the duckweed pond. Kiko loves to toss his ball into the duckweed, and then try (always unsuccessfully) to retrieve it.16 Mai 2004

Green and Bluevu 692 foisWhen I was a kid, I had a typewriter ribbon that was blue and green (or maybe it was purple and green) --- rather than black and red. These two plants in our garden remind me of that old typewriter.16 Mai 2004
Marjorie---Padstow1.jpg
Marjorie in Padstow, Cornwall (Apr 27 04)vu 650 foisMarjorie and I went to Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant for our 18th Anniversary, and spent the night in Padstow. We took a stock trailer and rented pick-up, and then headed to Torquay to pick up Lord Rannoch --- the bull --- from the stud farm. It was "crisp" in Padstow.27 Avril 2004
artichoke.jpg
Artichoke and Mintvu 701 foisWe got lost one day going to Coventry (or somepleace awful) and we found the National Herb Centre. They had the most wonderful, big, silver-green plants that turned out to be artichoke plants. Ours didn't grow anywhere as large, yet. But fresh artichokes from the garden are great. We've surrounded the little artichoke plant with mint. Whitecroft, on a warm Spring day in April, 2004.25 Avril 2004

The Canal Pathvu 1087 foisA bit overgrown along what I call "the canal path," so this photo doesn't really show the water. We had to put the temporary wire fence in (left of photograph) as the dogs kept going into the water and duck weed. I took this photo to show the garden centre our empty trellis on the right. We've had honeysuckle there (yuck), and roses that haven't grown well. Marjorie wants a purple flower we've seen in our rambling.25 Avril 2004

Whitecroft - Spring Afternoonvu 691 foisApril 25, 2004 -- Gorgeous Spring Sunday -- Marjorie and I spent the day reading the papers, etc., out on the lanai. (Actually, I read the papers while Marjorie tossed Kiko's ball.) Kevin mowed the front lawn on Friday afternoon, so took this photograph with the Cone Noses.25 Avril 2004
