The first form they gave us, right after the incident, was just a lost-and-found form, so we had to enlist the help of our hotel, and go back a second day. Kiko809 mol gekuckt ginnThis is our last photo of Kiko. I didn't want to bother him by getting up close with the camera, but did want some photographs of Kiko on his 12th birthday, May 1, 2007. He died later that evening, on the couch, and with Marjorie and me at his side. Marjorie asked, "Why do I miss him so much?" But just do a search on this website for "Kiko" to look at all of his pictures. He always made us laugh.%02. %622 %2007

Kiko in the Garden772 mol gekuckt ginnMay 1, 2007 -- Kiko's 12th Birthday. He'd had surgery about a month earlier to remove part of his lung: biopsies, x-rays, and CAT scans had been inconclusive. Unfortunately he had lung cancer. He was fine up until his birthday. He wanted to spend most of the day outside -- fortunately it was warm and sunny. He came in at 7:00 PM, and then died, with Marjorie and me with him, at 11:00 PM. On the couch, his favourite place.%02. %622 %2007

Holiday Inn Garden Court - Helsinki Airport, Finland1115 mol gekuckt ginnBecause our inbound flight was late, we missed our connection to St. Petersburg in Warsaw. This meant a side-trip to Helsinki, and we still arrived in St. Petersburg a day late. This hotel, at the airport, was clean but basic. Nobody to help with our luggage, so Marjorie had to put it on a chair we "borrowed" from the business centre. She pushed the luggage to our tiny room on the chair.%02. %622 %2007
