View From The Kissing Gate - North131 viewsLooking north up the public footpath from the kissing gate, across Geoffrey Grizzell's land to the stile beyond. As the grass has recently been harvested, the green footpath is quite clear.

Installing The New Fence129 viewsNigel Roberts from Albion Fencing installing the new wooden fence beneath our oak tree to close this gap in the hedge. The hege bushes didn't grow: this area was once a small pond (beofre our time) so it's possible the pond was filled with builders' rubble. There was also a hole in the wire fence in this area, so sheep may have nibbled our hedge when it was young. The gap is closed now.

The Gap In The Fence111 viewsThis is the view of the west of Maggot's Croft, including our stable in the sitance and chicken coop in the foreground, visible through the gap in our hedge. We have now closed the gap with a wooden fence.

View Down the Track - South180 viewsIt was a sunny day so I headed out with my camera. This is a view from the gate to the stable yard, looking south down the track and public footpath 578. The dog resort building is on the left.

Gate to the Stable Yard129 viewsThis five bar gate has been a nightmare for us. We had it automated, but that never really worked. The prevailing wind seems to "hit" the gate and damage the automation mechanics, and recent (October 2008) repairs didn't last more than a few days. We've had people stand at the gate and watch us, like looking at a zoo exhibit. We are installing larger gates this coming week.

Walking Down Our Track128 viewsTaken from our track (and public footpath 578) looking south towards Colletts Green Road. Our home is on the left, behind the wooden fence (east). Jack and Margaret's home is on the right (west). We have recently spread a new load of gravel on the track, thanks to the folks at Central Networks. They'd just buried the power supply to our neighbours' homes beneath our track.

Walking Down Our Track161 viewsTaken from our track (and public footpath 578) looking south towards Colletts Green Road. Our double white gates are to the left (east) but not visible. Jack and Margaret's gate is to the right (west). The structure behind the telephone pole is the garage for the Cider Mill. This photo shows how their conifer hedge is overhanging the track.

View Down the Track - South122 viewsLooking south down the track (and public footpath 578). We own the track, with out home on the left (east) and Jack and Margaret's home is on the right (west). I took a photograph from the same spot, with me turned around 180 degrees.
