Going through these old photographs has been quite surrealistic. As I play with the images with Photoshop, removing scratches and blemishes, fixing exposures, balancing colours, it's like spending time with ghosts. I'm aware that in many of the photographs, everyone is now deceased. Yet here they are, looking young. People whom I thought were "old" look much younger in these pictures than I am now.

Living with Bull Terriers is always an experience. Misinformed people think these are horrid animals, owned by drug pushers, who devour children. I do volunteer photography (buildings, gravestones, etc.) for folks all over the world as part of the Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness project. I am unable to do research --- don't have the skills --- but if you point me towards a graveyard in our area of the U.K., I'm glad to go and try to find a grave, inscription, etc.

In December 2004 British Airways had an "auction" where you could bid on trips with Executive Club miles. I was the successful bidder for a trip to Dubai, which we took in late November 2005.
