Kiko -- Hairless On One Side167 viewsKiko a few days after the surgery to remove two lobes from his right lung. This is our first visit with Kiko after his operation. They certainly shaved a lot of his fur. He was hungry and seemed happy to see us. What he really wanted to do was leave! We're hoping he can go home later today.

Early November sunset180 viewsI was at my desk and Kiko barked (once) at the conservatory door to be let in. I looked over and he was bright red. I thought he'd fallen into some sort of paint, and then I saw he was red from the sunset. I got my camera and my cane and hobbled around the garden taking these photographs. I've lived at Whitecroft since 1989, and it was the most gorgeous sunset I've seen. Thanks, Kiko.

Magnolia With Flying Insect216 viewsI love magnolias. The only problem is that these huge flowers seem to fall apart: in doing so they avoid being cut from the tree and put in a vase. Wonderful big petals, and a great smell that, at least in this case, attracted a small flying insect of some sort.

The Lodge at Koele - Lana`i, Hawaii311 viewsLocated in the "highlands" of Lana`i, with a gorgeous jacaranda tree. Marjorie and I spent an afternoon by the pool, never thinking that the sun was actually going to burn us. The cool, upcountry air tricked us --- we were both quite sunburned.

Marjorie and the Viet Cong in the Cu Chi Tunnels379 viewsThe Cu Chi tunnels, a 75-mile-long underground maze where thousands of fighters and villagers could hide, are at the top of the list of tourist spots for Ho Chi Minh City. Marjorie was able to crawl through the lower levels (I'm too big). There was also this "photo op" spot, complete with fake rice bowls.

Marjorie with a Swimming Pool of Coffee386 viewsWe visited the lovely (not) Strensham Motorway Services on the M5 and Marjorie ordered coffee. I don't think she expected quite this large a cup.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4088 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
