Magnolia With Flying Insect194 viewsI love magnolias. The only problem is that these huge flowers seem to fall apart: in doing so they avoid being cut from the tree and put in a vase. Wonderful big petals, and a great smell that, at least in this case, attracted a small flying insect of some sort.

Fallen headstones, St Matthias, Malvern Link, Worcestershire207 views"Tip" is a big problem for gravestones in the UK. Cu Chi Tunnels, Viet Nam318 views"The tunnels themselves are undeniably impressive. Throughout the war, the South Vietnamese Communists, or Vietcong, continually expanded the three-level network, which included mess halls, meeting rooms, an operating theater and even a tiny cinema."

Marjorie at the Bolex Camera Factory263 viewsI always wanted a Bolex movie camera -- it was the "gold standard." When I finally could afford one, video cameras had taken over. Still, we found this little factory in Switzerland, and bought a new Bolex 16mm movie camera. I think they make them by hand, one at a time.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4061 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
