Magnolia With Flying InsectПросмотров: 216I love magnolias. The only problem is that these huge flowers seem to fall apart: in doing so they avoid being cut from the tree and put in a vase. Wonderful big petals, and a great smell that, at least in this case, attracted a small flying insect of some sort.

Nevsky Prospect - St. PetersburgПросмотров: 374This is where my wallet was stolen. This is one of the main streets in St. Petersburg, Russia. Marjorie and I were walking up the street (same direction as the girl with the yellow shoulder bag) on a sunny spring afternoon. A large man on a cell phone came out from behind the bus shelter (on the left in this photo) and blocked my path. Others crowded me from behind when I stopped suddenly, and my wallet was gone. The police didn't really care -- this is apparently typical in St. Petersburg.
