"The North Cape was named by English explorer Richard Chancellor in 1553 when he passed the cape in the search for a Northeast passage. From then on, it was occasionally visited by daring explorers who climbed the steep cliff face to the plateau; famous visitors include King Oscar II of Norway in 1873 and Thailand's King Chulalongkorn in 1907. Today, the North Cape is a major tourist attraction."

The Canal Path698 пъти видянаA bit overgrown along what I call "the canal path," so this photo doesn't really show the water. We had to put the temporary wire fence in (left of photograph) as the dogs kept going into the water and duck weed. I took this photo to show the garden centre our empty trellis on the right. We've had honeysuckle there (yuck), and roses that haven't grown well. Marjorie wants a purple flower we've seen in our rambling.
