The water beneath leads into the lagoon. It appears that the bridge is under construction. I think this photo --- actually two slides stitched together --- is circa 1953.

Gloucester Old Spot - Tamworth Cross Pigletsšt. ogledov:6445About six or seven months ago a farmer asked if he could bring his two Gloucester Old Spot sows to Lucies Farm so they'd have a litter of Tamworth - GOS piglets. The farmer visited us several times and then vanished, leaving us with the babies (and their mothers). These are part of the two combined litters.

Unblinking Eye -- Cao Dai Temple, Viet Namšt. ogledov:6237The unblinking eye is the symbol of the Cao Dai faith, founded in 1926 in Viet Nam. "Cao Dai venerates a host of different figures including Victor Hugo, Sun Yat Sen, and Trangh Trinh, a 16th century Vietnamese poet and philosopher. Its ethics are based in the belief in the reincarnation of the soul." There are 7 to 8 million adherents, mostly in Viet Nam.

Highland and Aberdeen Angus Cattlešt. ogledov:6228We are gradually moving from the pedigree Highland cattle (long-haired, horns -- on left) to pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle (black -- on right). Both produce delicious beef: the Aberdeen Angus matures earlier.

The Arrival -- Honolulušt. ogledov:6121My parents met at Leyland Powers, a school of theater and broadcast in Boston (long gone, I'd guess -- Google comes up with nothing). They drove across country and then took a plane (shown) to meet my maternal grandparents in Hawaii. On the way, they got married in Nevada. This photo shows Birdie (my aunt), my father, mother, and grandmoter at Honolulu Airport, summer 1948. I can imagine it was an interesting arrival.
