Lord's Wood Sewage Problem901 viewsUnfortunately, Lord's Wood Cottage (not under our ownership) is draining unprocessed sewage into Lord's Wood. This may have been the accepted practice in the past, but it crates a foul smell and health hazard just inside the woodland. We are working with the Malvern Hills District Council to remedy this.

Marjorie Standing By A Pile of Cut Trees885 viewsWe are proceeding with our Woodland Grant Scheme for Lord's Wood. Here are a small portion of the logs cut down in the woodland, awaiting pick-up by the sawmill. Apparenty the logs are used to make the corrugation inside a piece of cardboard. Marjorie looks small next to the pile of logs.

Lumber at Roadside838 viewsAwaiting pick-up by the truck from the sawmill. This is stacked on the triangular area owned by us in front of Woodman's Cottage: it has not been possible to have the sawmill pick up at the staging area behind Lordswood Cottage. 29 October 2005

Lord's Wood - Autumn823 viewsBecause of the dry summer in 2003, we had a spectacular autumn. This photograph was taken from the main path in Lord's Wood in October 2003.

Lord's Wood Cottage Soak-Away786 viewsThomas Hawkins installed this underground soak-away in a corner of Lord's Wood for the waste from Lord's Wood Cottage. I understand that they've buried porous stones in a chamber that they've excavated, and then have covered it with a black membrande to keep the soil from entering the chamber. We have our fingers crossed that this will stop the pollution into Lord's Wood.
