Hawaiian Island Flowers & Foliage - HIFF373 εμφανίσειςThis was Nana's florist business. It was almost eight acres of nursery, plus a retail florist, all located on what is now the freeway interchange in Moanalua. Tourists walked through the gardens in the back, which were gorgeous. HIFF provided the flowers for many of the Elvis movies in Hawaii. I loved the place because it had lots of padlocks that came with lots of keys.

Pan Am StratoCruiser Aircraft - Honolulu Airport472 εμφανίσειςI remember flying from Honolulu to Bangkok, most of it via StratoCruiser. We dressed for the flight. There was a lounge downstairs, which we reached via a spiral staircase. We flew Honolulu - Wake - Guam - Manila - Hong Kong and then on to Bangkok.

The Tewkesbury Ferry238 εμφανίσειςThe other day, when coming home on the M50, I spotted a sign to the ferry. The ferry? Today we went to have a look, and there really is a ferry that runs several times a day from this beautiful spot on the River Avon (actually near the motorway) to Tewkesbury. That's Bredon Hill in the background.

Lord's Wood Cottage Soak-Away390 εμφανίσειςThomas Hawkins installed this underground soak-away in a corner of Lord's Wood for the waste from Lord's Wood Cottage. I understand that they've buried porous stones in a chamber that they've excavated, and then have covered it with a black membrande to keep the soil from entering the chamber. We have our fingers crossed that this will stop the pollution into Lord's Wood.
