Artichoke and MintПереглядів: 316We got lost one day going to Coventry (or somepleace awful) and we found the National Herb Centre. They had the most wonderful, big, silver-green plants that turned out to be artichoke plants. Ours didn't grow anywhere as large, yet. But fresh artichokes from the garden are great. We've surrounded the little artichoke plant with mint. Whitecroft, on a warm Spring day in April, 2004.

Japanese maple outside my window: with the long summer days, the sun really shines in during the afternoon, but I don't like to shut the blinds.

Large Lady, Small CarПереглядів: 200Marjorie and I were having a won ton min at Wing Yip in Birmingham when this large lady came out of another oriental restaurant. To my amusement she went right to this small red car and hopped in.

Honolulu AirportПереглядів: 361I can only guess at the date of this photograph -- late 1950's or early 1960's. The old Honolulu Airport terminal is behind the PanAm airplane. I love the PanAm attendants doing things at the gate itself. No air bridges. My father with Nana: not sure who's going where.

Teddy Swimming in the FountainПереглядів: 499Teddy had been playing on the edge of the fountain. He really wanted to jump in, but then held back. Finally, he just did a belly flop and jumped. He then proudly swam from the one side to the other, and then scampered up the bank.
