Speed Camera PartnershipПереглядів: 453I saw these folks from the Speed Camera Partnership blowing up balloons (hmmm). As their cameras threaten to take our photograph at unwanted times, I thought I'd take their photograph. They didn't appear to be speeding, but I just need to check the calibration of my camera.

The Mine in DartmouthПереглядів: 223There is a big red mine on the sea front in Dartmouth with a coin slot. The brass plaque says that all funds go to The Shipwrecked Fisherman & Mariners Royal Benevolent Society, but the mine seemed full. As the mine is about a meter in diameter --- if it's full of coins it must be holding a treasure trove.

Statue of Liberty from the Deck of the QE2Переглядів: 221Arriving in New York City by large ocean liner is thrilling. This was a warm spring day, April 1991. It was the first crossing of the year for the QE2 and we were a day late because we encountered 55 foot waves in the North Atlantic. The Statue of Liberty is in the distance.

QE2 About To Sail Beneath the Verrazano Narrows BridgeПереглядів: 157The bridge separates Staten Island from Brooklyn. It has a clearance of 228 feet at mean high water, so hopefully we'll fit beneath it.
