Marjorie and the Viet Cong in the Cu Chi Tunnelsvu 339 foisThe Cu Chi tunnels, a 75-mile-long underground maze where thousands of fighters and villagers could hide, are at the top of the list of tourist spots for Ho Chi Minh City. Marjorie was able to crawl through the lower levels (I'm too big). There was also this "photo op" spot, complete with fake rice bowls.

Ho Chi Minh City "Museum of War Remnants" with a Helicoptervu 244 foisFrom the New York Times of July 1999: "The city's Museum of War Remnants, with its displays of captured weapons and its catalog of horrors, only recently amended its name, with changing times, from the Museum of American War Crimes." We were there before it changed its name. Our guide didn't want to take us, and felt very awkward about it all.

Marjorie With a Tank at the Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Namvu 213 foisWe read about this museum and were curious. We had to specifically ask our guide to take us. There was nobody else there. The whole museum was dusty and forgotten, something left over (barely) from another time, another place. I'd be surprised if it's still there.
