Tapa and the Daisy Sprinkler3527 mol gekuckt ginnWe bought this silly yellow daisy sprinkler at the BBC Garden Show --- for Tapa. We knew he'd chase the water all over the place. And he did, for hours. When we shut it off, he'd stand at look at the limp daisy, waiting for it to do something. So we'd have to turn it on again.

Michaelmas Daisies - Whitecroft Garden278 mol gekuckt ginnI'd never even heard of a Michaelmas Daisy until I spotted a road sign in Malvern one day pointing to the National Michaelmas Daisy Collection. We actually paid a visit and discovered that these daisies bloom in the autumn. And, to our surprise, we have Michaelmas daisies in our garden. Here are some just outside our front lounge, blooming in October.

Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam373 mol gekuckt ginn"Indigenous to Vietnam Cao Dai is a fusion of the best from Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism, with Christianity and Islam thrown in for good measure. Cao Daoism was founded in Vietnam only as recently as the 1920's as the answer to the ultimate ideal religion and insists that its' earth-based intermediaries or messengers include such luminaries as William Shakespeare, Joan of Arc and Napoleon Bonaparte."

Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam440 mol gekuckt ginn"Cao Dai actually means "palace or high tower", which is suitably apt. Built in 1927, the massive nine-story Cao Dai Temple is part cathedral and part pagoda. It is also a rude assault on your eyeballs."

Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam304 mol gekuckt ginn"The central philosophy of Cao Daism pertains to the duty that the faithful perform for themselves, their family, society and the world at large. Much like Confucianism, this element of the Philosophy pertains to how the individual functions within the context of the community."

Cao Dai Temple Eye - Tay Ninh, Viet Nam5116 mol gekuckt ginn"There are eyes throughout the massive temple that stare down, unblinkingly. The eye symbolizes God as He appeared in the first vision establishing the Cao Dai faith in 1926."

Unblinking Eye -- Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam6237 mol gekuckt ginnThe unblinking eye is the symbol of the Cao Dai faith, founded in 1926 in Viet Nam. "Cao Dai venerates a host of different figures including Victor Hugo, Sun Yat Sen, and Trangh Trinh, a 16th century Vietnamese poet and philosopher. Its ethics are based in the belief in the reincarnation of the soul." There are 7 to 8 million adherents, mostly in Viet Nam.
