Tapa and the Daisy Sprinkler3526 x bekekenWe bought this silly yellow daisy sprinkler at the BBC Garden Show --- for Tapa. We knew he'd chase the water all over the place. And he did, for hours. When we shut it off, he'd stand at look at the limp daisy, waiting for it to do something. So we'd have to turn it on again.

Michaelmas Daisies - Whitecroft Garden278 x bekekenI'd never even heard of a Michaelmas Daisy until I spotted a road sign in Malvern one day pointing to the National Michaelmas Daisy Collection. We actually paid a visit and discovered that these daisies bloom in the autumn. And, to our surprise, we have Michaelmas daisies in our garden. Here are some just outside our front lounge, blooming in October.

Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam373 x bekeken"Indigenous to Vietnam Cao Dai is a fusion of the best from Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism, with Christianity and Islam thrown in for good measure. Cao Daoism was founded in Vietnam only as recently as the 1920's as the answer to the ultimate ideal religion and insists that its' earth-based intermediaries or messengers include such luminaries as William Shakespeare, Joan of Arc and Napoleon Bonaparte."

Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam440 x bekeken"Cao Dai actually means "palace or high tower", which is suitably apt. Built in 1927, the massive nine-story Cao Dai Temple is part cathedral and part pagoda. It is also a rude assault on your eyeballs."

Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam304 x bekeken"The central philosophy of Cao Daism pertains to the duty that the faithful perform for themselves, their family, society and the world at large. Much like Confucianism, this element of the Philosophy pertains to how the individual functions within the context of the community."

Unblinking Eye -- Cao Dai Temple, Viet Nam6237 x bekekenThe unblinking eye is the symbol of the Cao Dai faith, founded in 1926 in Viet Nam. "Cao Dai venerates a host of different figures including Victor Hugo, Sun Yat Sen, and Trangh Trinh, a 16th century Vietnamese poet and philosopher. Its ethics are based in the belief in the reincarnation of the soul." There are 7 to 8 million adherents, mostly in Viet Nam.
