Tamworth Pig10532 viewsLooks like the pigs have converted our lush, green English field into the Serengetti. Time to move them to another field --- for them to convert.

Tamworth "in the zone"2221 viewsShe's just covered her nose with a liberal coating of mud, and that's made her thirsty.1 comments

Tamworth Enjoying Mud Bath14464 viewsShe's about to be moved to her "new" field --- covered with grass --- to give us time to renew this pig field with special pig-resistant grass from Hurrell's. But, in the meantime, time for a nice mud bath.

Marjorie and the Tamworth Lady3022 viewsMarjorie has shown great wisdom and has worn white trousers out to visit the piggy wiggy. Naturally, the pig's reaction was to coat her nose with mud and then want to show Marjorie how much she is loved. Kissy, kissy . . .

A Berkshire Pig Joint2557 viewsWhen we picked up our new Berkshire Boar, Westbrook, we also bought a nice Berkshire roast. This is a "before" photo. Note how all the crackling is scored.

Westbrook Settles In3138 viewsWe picked up Westbrook Peter Lad 1st on May 18, 2005. It was his birthday --- he's 11 weeks old. We had an uneventful ride down from his original home in Little Hereford, and he's settled in nicely. We have him in a large stable until he grows a bit larger and can be put out with the bigger pigs.

Berkshire Pork Roast Dinner9938 viewsMarjorie cooked a delicious roast dinner with our first Berkshire pork leg roast. It was delicious. Much darker pork than conventional "supermarket" pork.
Worthington.jpg
Westbrook4864 viewsSince his arrival at Lucies Farm a few days ago, Worthington has become a "stable pig." He lives in one of our stables, and runs around the stable yard keeping us all company.

Berkshire Piglets17155 viewsWe bought Fairoaks Mermaid 4 as a pedigree Berkshire sow in gilt. The sellers, the Bignells, told us her possible farrowing date was May 26. On the appointed date, along came the piglets. This photograph was taken just after they were born.
