"Spooky" Alice and Her CalfПросмотров: 213"Spooky" Alice is our only Highland cow minus her horns. Our former stockmen wouldn't handle her as they felt she was too dangerous, so the compromise was to keep her (instead of kill her) but minus her horns. Alice and her calf have now moved to a new home in Wales.

Highland Cow Mooing At Her CalfПросмотров: 178UK302940600028 was scheduled to go (along with her calf) to a wonderful new home in Wales. We spent two days trying to box her, and finally gave up --- at least for the time being. In this photo, she's mooing at her calf, who we did manage to catch.

In the end, after two days, our patience paid off --- the lure of her calf and food was just too great, and Marjorie snuck in and closed the gate behind her.
