Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake.

Walsh Family AlbumPhotographs of our family -- when we were young, or were working, or were travelling, having fun, being sad, putting on make-up, cooking, playing with the bull terriers, eating (lots of these), living.

Marmadukes Luxury Hotel and the Four Poster Bed230 viewsFor some reason the management or decorator at Marmadukes Luxury Hotel thought the four poster bed (designed, apparently, by the guy who designed the beds in the Harry Potter movies) was the most important thing in the room. It filled the room. In fact, one of the four posts actually went up and into the antique chandelier. You couldn't use the single bedside lamp: it was behind a non-retractable curtain. Helicopter Overhead304 viewsTapa started barking the other night, and when he and I looked outdoors, there was a helicopter hovering across the street, pointing its searchlight about. It then went down our track, and away past the back field. I learned the next morning that there had been police cars and dogs chasing someone. The fugitive tried to get over our gate -- but the top is electrified (to keep foxes out). This is a photo of the helicopter.

Wild Boar in the Mud at Maggot's Croft1851 viewsThis field, originally an orchard, came with the prosaic name of Maggot's Croft. Despite our planting pig-resistant grass from Hurrells (a specialist seed company) the wild boar manage to remove all traces of grass in a matter of weeks.

New Whitecroft Lawn and Daffodils186 viewsThe lawn had been newly rolled out. Only the contractor had removed all of our topsoil and essentially put the turf on clay. Once it started to rain, the lawn drowned -- and had to be replaced.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4085 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
