| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Lord's Wood Cottage Soak-Away444 viewsThomas Hawkins installed this underground soak-away in a corner of Lord's Wood for the waste from Lord's Wood Cottage. I understand that they've buried porous stones in a chamber that they've excavated, and then have covered it with a black membrande to keep the soil from entering the chamber. We have our fingers crossed that this will stop the pollution into Lord's Wood.

Waterlogged Field with Wild Boar314 viewsThe recent heavy rains were too much for the land drains in this field. (On the day this photo was taken -- January 13 2008 -- the River Severn, just down the road from us, flooded over its banks into parts of the City of Worcester.)

Marjorie and the Viet Cong in the Cu Chi Tunnels379 viewsThe Cu Chi tunnels, a 75-mile-long underground maze where thousands of fighters and villagers could hide, are at the top of the list of tourist spots for Ho Chi Minh City. Marjorie was able to crawl through the lower levels (I'm too big). There was also this "photo op" spot, complete with fake rice bowls.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4086 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
