Our guys cleared out the brambles on our side of the fence, and it's now clear that the old fence (in the centre of the hedge at the left) then does a right-hand turn (the two posts in the middle of this photograph), and turns right again. The fence on the right was installed sometime after May 13 2004, when the materials were purchased by Hawkins' men. The fence in the middle was put up, we think between June 2002 and May 2004.

Top of Southern Gate Post296 viewsPhotographed from the interior (stable yard) looking down our track. The other fencing (light colour) was installed in circa 1990. We did not specify that the gates be wooden, or that they "match" anything. The important feature to us was that the gates be six feet tall, and stop prying eyes.

Artichoke and Mint345 viewsWe got lost one day going to Coventry (or somepleace awful) and we found the National Herb Centre. They had the most wonderful, big, silver-green plants that turned out to be artichoke plants. Ours didn't grow anywhere as large, yet. But fresh artichokes from the garden are great. We've surrounded the little artichoke plant with mint. Whitecroft, on a warm Spring day in April, 2004.
