| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Kiko Enjoying Skippy, His Favourite Peanut Butter673 viewsMost of our doggie guests --- and our own dogs --- enjoy peanut butter. We normally gently put a dab on the roof of their mouth to give them licking pleasure. But Kiko, our bull terrier, wants to go for the whole jar of Skippy.

The Six Pears383 viewsWe bought these six pears from Solstice in London. They're from France, and the tips of the stems have been sealed with red wax. But the pears looked a bit beat up when they arrived (I took this photograph shortly after we opened the box). They taste great --- but I'm not overly fond of all the cuts and bruises.

Burj al Arab Hotel414 viewsThe right side of the hotel --- bathed in purple light --- is made from Kevlar, and is designed to look like a sail. The whole hotel is on a man-made island just offshore in the Arabian Sea. The colours on the side of the hotel change every few minutes.

Interior of Martley Parish Church290 viewsOrgan on the left, and 14th century trompe l’oeil painting on right. This painting "was common enough in later periods, especially in Renaissance Italy, but it is very unusual to find it in an ordinary parish church of this period. This was made by a very highly-skilled painter indeed. [...] The 'Stoning and Roses' pattern of unusual delicacy, with a stemmed flower in each illusionistic brick."

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4084 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
