Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake.

Cathy at Paignton Pier183 viewsTwilight at Paignton Pier, Torbay. Cathy standing on the red sand --- it looked more like the sand used in construction than on a beach.

Bonsai in the Garden Tent646 viewsThe flower and garden tent was hugely reduced in size from previous years: I believe the Three Counties Show conflicts with a BBC garden show at the NEC. But the bonsai on display were beautiful.

The North Atlantic From Our Cabin on the QE2254 viewsOur cabin was at the top of the ship, so it really rock-and-rolled in the high seas. This was the first crossing of the North Atlantic by the QE2 in 1991, and we encountered 55 foot seas. The stabilisers had to be retracted, and we sailed to the south in a futile effort to avoid the worst of the weather. We were a day late arriving in New York City.

Marjorie and Me, Christmas Day 1985329 viewsWe'd just finished our Christmas dinner at Chez Michel in Waikiki. Marjorie expected "Christmas food" --- turkey and things. But our only choice was classic French cuisine. I can't believe I was ever that thin.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4088 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
