| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Michaelmas Daisies - Whitecroft Garden305 viewsI'd never even heard of a Michaelmas Daisy until I spotted a road sign in Malvern one day pointing to the National Michaelmas Daisy Collection. We actually paid a visit and discovered that these daisies bloom in the autumn. And, to our surprise, we have Michaelmas daisies in our garden. Here are some just outside our front lounge, blooming in October.

Repairing the Fountain230 viewsGiving the fountain in the front garden a good clean. Unfortunately, in doing this the young lad managed to remove all of the moss from the outside of the fountain, and kill all of the plants in the front. The fountain looks "new" again, but has lost the patina it took a dozen years to acquire. October 2 2006

Craig By The Park Sheraton Hotel - Thanksgiving 19661903 viewsI had a term paper to write --- I was a freshman at Renesselaer --- so I borrowed a typewriter in the hotel's office. They used it for typing telegrams (remember telegrams?) so all of the lower-case letters had been filed off. I had to type my paper ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Note the Horn and Hardart automat on the corner in the background.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4071 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
