| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Lord Rannoch's DNA Test452 viewsOur Swiss customers required Rannoch to have a DNA test, so off we went to pull out some (not much) of his hair. It was important that the roots still be attached. Ever pulled the hair out of a bull? Here are the DNA results from Weatherbys Ireland.

The Cider Mill and Our Track220 viewsOur track is the gravel area to the right (east) of The Cider Mill. As is shown, the house has essentially no land on its eastern side, except for a small brick path about three feet wide. Our post-and-rail fence is on the right of this photograph.

Whitecroft Lawn - Spring 1991197 viewsWe hired Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects in Wales, to improve the undulations in our lawn, and to make our pond more visible from the house. They did a detailed specification, obtained bids, and recommended the low bidder. Unfortunately, the low bidder's plan was to simply scrape away all of our topsoil and plant turf on the clay. The turf all drowned, and we had another firm do the replacement --- paid for by Corscadden's professional indemnity insurance. This is the original work, with the front of Whitecroft (and well) on the left.

Kune Kune - Gloucester Cross5302 viewsDon't ask me how, but somehow Chase's kune kune pigs mated with our Gloucester Old Spot boar, and this piggy is the result. When I tried to take her photo she kept trying to hide behind the water trough. I guess I can't blame her for not wanting to have her photo snapped.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4086 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
