| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Huey Helicopter at the Cu Chi Tunnels, Viet Nam2666 viewsThis old Huey UH-1 was at the entrance to the Cu Chi tunnels in Viet Nam. Our guide felt very awkward about this --- and I'd be surprised if it's still there.

Alpaca Profile252 viewsMost alpaca photographs that I've seen show the "fluffy" version with lots of fur. Our three alpaca bachelors have just been shorn for the summer, so you can actually see their faces. And I'm sure they're a lot more comfortable.

Yellow-Jacket Wasp232 viewsWe seem to have a wasps' next in the ground next to Kea's and Pau's bench. I took about a dozen photos --- this is the only one where the wasp is in focus. There's actually a guide on the internet to tell you what the markings mean. I think they mean "nasty -- avoid." Apparently you can freeze the nest, or pour boiling water down the opening. As if!

Saturday Morning Breakfast - Home Made Pancakes with Worms362 viewsOne of our week-end treats is to have pancakes with "real" (i.e. fake) maple syrup. Marjorie cooked up a batch on Saturday. They looked good, but my first bite felt, er, "crunchy." I looked down on my plate and saw this little critter. Where had it come from?! A further search yielded a veritable collection of moths which we seem to have imported in some dates or nuts from Dubai. Yum, yum. We had toast and spring cleaned the cupboard!!

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4088 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
