| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Latch on Stable Gate354 viewsThis Came electronic latch was installed by Automation Gates in early 2005. The stable gate is exposed to direct wind, and the installers indicated that the wind on the gate was breaking the arm that connected the gate with the motor. At the same time, the motor was replaced with a different --- and presumably better --- motor. The latch meant that when the gate closed it would be supported, against the wind, on both ends. But the latch didn't always engage --- usually because of the wind.

Richard Chamings (right) and Big and The Wild Boar1077 viewsOur newly-arrived wild boar has a prolapse, possibly from all the rich, new grass at his new home. Here Big (left) and our vet, Richard Chamings operate on the boar's rear. Tranquilising a wild boar proved to be quite a challenge: he just didn't want to lie down.

Kiko Asleep in the Conservatory1113 viewsKiko was snoring away in his favourite chair in the conservatory yesterday (February 13 2005) so I snapped his picture. When I went to upload it to this site, I was surprised to find out how many pictures I have of our dogs sleeping --- including in the sunny conservatory. Gosh, it looks like that's all our dogs do every day. As if.

Oh, the humilition567 viewsLord Rannoch decided to pay Ballet Cruz a visit and in the words of the Rolling Stones "made the biggest mistake of his life". He was no match for the much younger bull. He's OK. Only his pride is wounded.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4076 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
