We chartered an Egyptian live-aboard boat and brought along three diving instructors (two from England, and Grant Graves from Malibu). We were able to dive three and four times each day, and each dive was a lesson. At the end of the trip, we all had dozens of PADI certification cards!

Photographs of Screws from Top Hinges318 viewsThese screws were removed from the top hinges: they connect the hinge to the large gate posts. The screw on the left is from the southern gate post, and measures 1 3/8 inch. The screw on the right is from the northern gate post, and measures 3 1/2 inches. I showed this photograph to Marjorie thinking she'd be surprised. She said that the screws on the right (northern) gate all started to pop out, so Nigel replaced them on the day he came to pick up his cheque.

Gate to the Stable Yard130 viewsThis five bar gate has been a nightmare for us. We had it automated, but that never really worked. The prevailing wind seems to "hit" the gate and damage the automation mechanics, and recent (October 2008) repairs didn't last more than a few days. We've had people stand at the gate and watch us, like looking at a zoo exhibit. We are installing larger gates this coming week.
