Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake.

The Fresh Garden Salad, McDonald's Style227 viewsMarjorie and I had to pick up some paint -- and I wanted lunch. Marjorie normally doesn't let me go to McDonalds, but I convinced her to give it a try because of their new, healthy food. Their website talks about garden salads made "using a host of wholesome ingredients including at least 6 varieties of salad leaves." This is Marjorie's second garden salad: her first was inedible. We were told this salad was "freshly made." Hmmm.

Tamworth Boar, Waiting for the Vet6788 viewsThe best way we could think of isolating the Tamwroth boar so the vet could check his back leg was to lure him into the stock trailer with food. In the end, he managed to push open the metal gate and escape.

Colletts Green Road368 viewsThe undersized sewers are again not up to the task. The water bubbles up, and then flows from the sewers into the highway run-off system. So sewage is escaping and going down into the River Severn. We have complained about this for 15 or more years, but nobody does anything about it. We installed our own mini sewage treatment plant so we weren't dependent upon the main sewers.

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4023 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
