| Lucies FarmAt Lucies Farm -- in sunny Worcestershire, England -- we raise pedigree Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle in the traditional Japanese Kobe style to produce quality beef. We also have an elite dog resort, catering to a handful of exclusive dogs. And we make a range of dog food and dog treats -- even haddock ice cream and a doggie birthday cake. |

Whitecroft Lawn - Spring 1991171 viewsWe hired Corscadden Associates, a firm of landscape architects in Wales, to improve the undulations in our lawn, and to make our pond more visible from the house. They did a detailed specification, obtained bids, and recommended the low bidder. Unfortunately, the low bidder's plan was to simply scrape away all of our topsoil and plant turf on the clay. The turf all drowned, and we had another firm do the replacement --- paid for by Corscadden's professional indemnity insurance. This is the original work, with the front of Whitecroft (and well) on the left.

Retired Greyhound Trust Anniversary Cake342 viewsThe PR firm for The Retired Greyhound Trust contacted us. They wanted a double-sized cake for a 30th birthday celebration. We explained that this would be a prototype, but they insisted. It was for a celebrity (we were told it would be Uri Geller) to cut at a PR function. This descended into farce, and they got their cake elsewhere. Here's the finished product. Now what to do with it....?

Madinat Souk596 viewsWith the small water taxis in the foreground. Quite a sophisticated and relaxing way to get around, even for me (since I can't walk more than about 10 feet at a time.)

Sunapee Harbor - New Hampshire4049 viewsWe took the dogs for a Memorial Day drive. In the middle of the countryside we saw a small sign pointing to Sunapee Harbor. Although miles from the sea, we found this lovely "seaside" New England harbor, complete with a seafood restaurant on the water. Gorgeous.May 28, 2012
