Collinson Silos281 viewsWe're considering the purchase of a silo for the farm, to hold the grain for the cattle. We stopped by the Collinson booth at the Royal Show to look at silos, during the five minutes of blue sky.

Affectionate Donkeys281 viewsPedro and Geofredo nuzzling one another. They're standing right by the opening of the gate on the 11 acre field. Trying to escape?

Our New Guernsey Calf280 viewsLooking a bit skinny, but Guernsey cattle always look a bit skinny to me. But also looking cute. Unfortunately (for him) he's a male.

Merlin the Guernsey Bull277 viewsIt's a bit silly, but we have one Guernsey house cow (Carole) and one Guernsey bull (Merlin). They are very lovey-dovey, and spend a tremendous amount of each day grooming each other. In this photo Merlin looks a bit like a Roman devil-god. I think it's his short, stubby horns.

The Kune Kune - Gloucester Old Spot Cross276 viewsThe particularly ugly pig is my daughter's. The pig is a cross between a Kune Kune pig (from New Zealand --- translates to "fat and round") and a Gloucester Old Spot pig. We never quite understood how the cross took place, but it did --- and produced this rather strange pig with wattles. They're called piri piri or dew laps that hang from the lower jaw, and their purpose is not known.

Stable Gate at Lucies Farm274 viewsPhotographed from the track, as though arriving at the gate. It opens inward (the motor is on the left in this photograph, latch on the right). The stable yard lies within. The two strands of wire on the top of the gate are part of the Gallagher electric fence system which surrounds Maggot's Croft.
