In Bed at 140 Dowsett Avenuešt. ogledov:1379Me (on the left), Shauna (the baby), and Nana. My guess is late 1955. This isn't the best photograph -- no faces showing. I've included it anyway because I thought the bedside table is interesting. I love the old dial telephone, the 1950's shoji lamps. But my favourite thing is the bottle of lager and cigarettes. I never remember my grandmother drinking --- but larger! How images can be shattered through the magnification power of Adobe Photoshop.

Our Bedroom at the Burj al Arab -- Dubaišt. ogledov:378With a spectacular view over the Arabian Sea. In the distance, they're constructing an artificial series of islands that will look like a palm tree. The palm tree can be seen from space. Nothing half-measure in Dubai.

Marmadukes Luxury Hotel and the Four Poster Bedšt. ogledov:153For some reason the management or decorator at Marmadukes Luxury Hotel thought the four poster bed (designed, apparently, by the guy who designed the beds in the Harry Potter movies) was the most important thing in the room. It filled the room. In fact, one of the four posts actually went up and into the antique chandelier. You couldn't use the single bedside lamp: it was behind a non-retractable curtain. Marjorie trying to read in the dark, in this hotel-from-Hell.

Marmadukes Luxury Hotel -- Trying to Watch TV in Bedšt. ogledov:122This overwhelming bed also made it impossible to watch the single TV in the room from bed. Yet the bed was 80% of the room. The single TV screen was small, and you had to look at it through the bars at the foot of the bed. It was the most inconsiderately designed hotel room Marjorie and I had ever encountered, and the hotel management was absolutely the worst.
