Straw ready for the wild boars' beddingvista 132 vecesThe wild boar are temporarily in the third paddock. When the hard core has been compacted, we will move the remaining two pig arcs and then give them all a fresh bed of straw.

Pig arcs on the new hard corevista 134 vecesThe hard core has not yet been compacted. The clay (on the right of the photograph) has been "repaired" by the construction team, but it won't take long for the wild boar to add their own special touch.

Lava Flow? No it's just clay in sunny Worcestershirevista 272 vecesThe clay in the second paddock at Maggot's Croft. The construction team did a good job of smoothing it --- they really had to dig it up when building the hard core foundation for the wild boar arcs.

Three pig arcsvista 178 vecesA project not quite finished. The hard core needs to be compacted on Monday to keep the wild boar from just messing it up. The hard core is quite thick, and very porous. The rain water should drain away --- which it doesn't do with clay.

Senior Male With Fine Tusksvista 9552 vecesAccording to UNESCO, "In Vanuatu, items such as boar tusks and stringed shell money are traditional forms of wealth. They have both cultural and economic importance, highly valued for their exchange value and social prestige." The boar's tusk is even prominent on the flag of Vanuatu. This boar, however, is in sunny Worcestershire.
